JOB TITLE: digital manager [title can be changed by postholder]

HOURS: eight hours a week

MONTHLY PAY: £11.95ph [london living wage]

CONTRACT: freelance contract from the 14th of november 2022 to the 31st of august 2023 [potential to be extended subject to funding]

oestrogeneration

oestrogeneration is a magazine platform founded in november 2021 with the purpose of highlighting the voices of trans women and transfeminine people, aiming to have an independent space for us to own our narrative.  

we publish themed essays as well as reactive pieces covering a variety of journalistic media and topics: both trans-related and not. we’re also looking to explore other forms of communication outside the written form, as well as running events and community spaces.

we believe storytelling, knowledge-sharing and education are powerful tools in our collective fight for trans liberation, and want to platform voices which are not provided the space to be heard in wider society.

we are a new organisation which has been run voluntarily up until now, and which is constantly open and welcoming of failing, growing and rebuilding – we are committed to creating a platform which is representative of a new world we’re aiming to nurture, whilst aware of the limitations of the wider system we work under.

the role

we are looking for an individual who’ll be managing our website, be responsible for our graphics, assist with our social media channels and our newsletter.

you’ll be responsible for create graphics for our web and social media content, and keep on track of our website to make it as user-friendly and as sleek as possible!

you’ll be holding regular meetings with our editor-in-chief, communicate with our collaborators, and be proactive and committed in utilising powerful aesthetics to further our mission.

essential key skills and attributes

  • passionate about trans liberation

  • passionate about storytelling as a tool for social change 

  • proficient in the use of squarespace or other website platforms

  • proficient in the use of adobe programs or other graphic design platforms

  • proactive and passionate about the development of a new trans-run organisation

desirable skills and attributes

  • knowledge of running social media channels 

  • knowledge of producing newsletters
